DVD RECORDER…………………………………………………..?

I have a digital tv but my dvd recorder was bought in 2004 and when i copy a program it records it from the analogue signal i can tell by the poor picture quality. when the analogue signal goes off will i still be able to record from this dvd recorder or do i need to up date my dvd recorded like i had to my tv

Unless your DVD recorder has built in Freeview, it will only pick up the analogue. The only way around this is to either buy a set top freeview box and connect that to the recorder, or buy a new one that has Freeview built in.
